Start with the usual rules
For consumer purchases of goods in Denmark, a statutory claim concerns a defect for which the seller is responsible. The usual time limit is two years from delivery, and you must report the problem within a reasonable time after discovering it.
Repair or replacement are normally the first remedies. A price reduction or cancellation of the purchase depends on the conditions being met. The burden of proof is affected, among other things, by whether the defect appears within the first year.

One extension after a repair
Earlier purchase agreements follow the previous rules. It is therefore important to know the agreement date and keep proof of the repair. Replacement and the recurrence of a previously repaired fault may have their own time-limit rules.

The right to repair is a separate option
The new rules also include a right to repair for specific product groups outside the seller's usual liability for defects. The repair may come at a reasonable price, and the period covered depends on the product rules.
This is not a general extension giving every older item a free repair.

What should you do now?
Find the dates of the purchase agreement and delivery. Describe the fault and contact the seller without unnecessary delay. Keep all details of earlier repairs too.
